Our Story

Our story begins in 2003 when Yuki Takazawa and Shay Hugi met in Israel. Both were heavily involved in the online affiliate industry, and they quickly realized that they shared a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship. Together, they formed a highly successful online business that utilized cutting-edge techniques to generate significant revenue.

Over the next two decades, Yuki and Shay continued to work together on a variety of successful ventures. During this time, they also began investing in startup companies as angels and quickly found that they had a talent for identifying promising new businesses.

Yuki eventually returned to Tokyo, where he became a member of the Japanese version of the popular TV show "Shark Tank," called Tiger Funding. Through his work on the show and his own investments, he has helped fund dozens of successful companies in Japan and beyond.

Meanwhile, Shay continued to invest in startups as an angel, and one of his early investments, Nordeus, became a part of Take-Two Interactive, a billion-dollar IPO company. As they continued to invest in new ventures, Yuki and Shay realized that they had a unique opportunity to help bridge the gap between the Japanese and Israeli startup communities.

And so, they formed the Israel Japan Fund, with the goal of raising $10 million to invest in promising new startups in both countries. By combining Yuki's experience in the Japanese market with Shay's knowledge of the Israeli startup scene, they hope to identify and fund the most innovative and promising new businesses in Japan while opening the doors for Israeli investors to the fascinating and ever growing Japanese business culture.
